
Reminder Dressing Room Supervision Policy
Just a quick reminder to all team officials that the Two
Deep Policy is to be followed at all times. This policy exists for the protection of everyone involved, the players,
team officials and parents. It is not
optional and must be adhered to by all teams.
Volunteer hours are recognized for those who are supervising in the
dressing rooms and parent reps will sign off on these.
The Ontario Hockey Federation's Two Deep Policy
reads as follows....
Two Deep Dressing Room Policy
It will be the Policy of the Ontario Hockey Federation that, when any player under the age of 19 is in the team dressing room(s) before, during and after a game or practice, a minimum of two of the following shall be present in the dressing room(s) or immediately outside the dressing room(s) with the door ajar: two team or club/association officials, properly screened or one such official and an adult person associated with the team.
In the situation of Juvenile or U21 hockey the coach may use an adult player over the age of 19 to be the second adult associated with the team.
Sanctions
Any person found to be in violation of this policy will receive a warning for a first offence, a two week suspension for a second offence, and a one year suspension for a third offence.
This policy is also addressed in the West Grey Minor Hockey Association's Rules of Operation Section 5.4 a) and 5.4 b) - General Rules for all WGMHA Teams which reads as follows…
5.4 General Rules for all WGMHA/WGHA Teams
a) Team officials (coaches, managers, and trainers) are responsible for the actions of their team before, during and after games.
b) Two (unrelated) PRS certified persons should be present in the dressing room at all times for practices and games.
