West Grey PeeWee Reps win Regional Silver Stick Tournament!!!
During the Christmas break, the West Grey PeeWee Reps travelled to Kincardine to participate in the regional silver stick tournament. The boys came out on top and are now travelling to Forest to participate in the international silver stick on January 8, 9, 10th, 2016!!
The boys first game of the Kincardine silver stick was held on Sunday Dec.27th in which the boys faced Ripley with an 8-3 win. Great positional play was displayed by the West Grey PeeWee Reps!! On Monday Dec. 28th West Grey faced Wingham with a great display of team work in which West Grey ended up on top with a 9-3 win. That same day the West Grey team faced South Bruce in which both teams fought hard and the game ended up in a 4-4 tie. Everyone was keeping a close eye on the status of all remaining round robin games to see if West Grey would move on to the semi-finals. As fate would have it, West Grey met South Bruce in the Semi-finals. Both teams came out on fire on that Tuesday afternoon in Tiverton, a game well played by both teams in which West Grey ended up with a 3-0 win. On the last day of the tournament, Dec. 30th, the boys travelled to Kincardine to face off with the Seaforth Stars in the Champoinship game. Seaforth came out on fire and after two periods of play, Seaforth was leading West Grey 3-1. After the intermission, West Grey came out flying as the boys scored a quick goal to get the momentum back. West Grey scored another goal later in the third period to tie the game up at 3-3. The game went into overtime and with 4 on 4 play, West grey scored a rocket from the blue line with 1:11 left in the first overtime. The West Grey Warriors PeeWee Reps win the Reginol Silver Stick tournament. What an epic four days folks!! On to the Internationals this weekend!!
